One for all, and all for one — that is what a team is all about, whether in sport or in business. In a team game such as cricket, we have seen miraculous victory when players of different skills and strengths team up to snatch impossible victory. A business too is like the glorious game. Magic happens when team made up of talented and qualified individuals come together to actualize winning business outcomes. The golden word in all match winning stories is just the – collaboration! Collaboration win matches, and the Dell-EMC merger is one such match-winner.Collaborations are important, and its potential is realized through thoughtful and brilliant strategy. An important aspect of this strategy is to spend a lot of time and energy in nurturing talent and providing teams the right platforms to grow and succeed. At Dell EMC, we invest a significant amount of time and effort in inculcating the core values of diversity and inclusivity among employees through training and workshops. Nurturing a skilled and diverse talent pool is crucial when we are in the business of building and delivering world-class products and services for the new digital economy. Making the right investments matters a lot for any business, and we invest in creating global leaders at the Center of Excellence (COE).
The mantra for success is cohesive collaboration and infusing the three vital ingredients
1) A Big Vision: An inspiring and big vision inspires and galvanizes big thinking and action;
2) Powerful Action: Enable team players to work towards that vision with the right tools and support platforms like Crossroads and EBC;
3) A Big Celebration: Celebrate as a team every time there is a winning stroke.
The Dell EMC initiative, ‘The Winning Stroke’ is in itself a great such movement, simply because it strikes an immediate chord with everyone. Cricket is a great leveller and holds universal appeal. The Dell EMC collaboration, like cricket, has the right mix for a success story — technology leadership, vision, cutting edge product and market reach. Every cricket team needs a good mix of different talents, leadership and vision for that winning stroke.
Talking of winning strokes, my biggest achievement has been in helping to shape India COE as an innovation hub for the Dell EMC family. We have brought the best minds in the industry together to develop great products. The result is there for everyone to see — Great Place to Work (GPTW) ranked us the fourth best tech organisation to work for in Asia. That, I think, has been my #TheWinningStroke moment!
