• Enterprise security comes from endpoint security – what business leaders need to know!

Securing access to an organization’s corporate network has been a quintessence in an organization’s data security policies since the internet has been around. Nonetheless, the mass shift to remote work models last year had compelled organizations to rethink their long-term endpoint security plans. So, how will things look different this year and the years to come?

With almost every business ushering its way to digital transformation, there has been a rising focus on security. This includes endpoint security, network security, data security, vulnerability and security analytics, web and email security, and identity access management. In fact, in 2020 itself 36 billion records were exposed in data breaches1.

Some of the looming threats that organizations need to look out for in today’s hyper-connected era include cloud-based threats that exposes organizations to challenges such as incomplete data deletion, cloud app vulnerabilities, misconfigurations in cloud storage, and reduced visibility, remote work vulnerabilities such as overlooking network perimeter security, threats related to IoT devices that have opened larger attack surface for cybercriminals, and insider threats, which is a repercussion of the negligent use of data and applications by the workforce.

Cybercriminals today have been able to tap into endpoint exposure, exploiting weakly secured VPNs, cloud-based services and unpatched remote devices – leveraging it to attack off-network systems. This is where remote monitoring and endpoint management tools become prerequisite.

There is no denying that cybersecurity will remain a high priority this year, especially as we move towards hybrid work culture and as organizations begin to integrate Gen Z into the workforce. This new generation of workforce is exceptionally tech savvy and is also armed with smartphones  and number of cloud-based apps. Most of them are also aware of the intelligent threats that look out to attack vulnerable endpoints. Hence, organizations must be well positioned to equip this workforce with devices and solutions that meets their data security requisites.

For organizations of all sizes, one of the sustained investments would be on endpoint security solutions and services that respond to the latest issues and mitigate emerging threats.
The overall cybersecurity market value is expected to reach $60.2 billion in 20212. This implies that there will be a rising demand for new devices and products, features, cloud security solutions, and upgrades to existing solutions. Organizations will adopt multi-layered approaches, including employee awareness, data protection and backup initiatives, vulnerability detection, and response.

This is where Dell Technologies brings in its expertise – enabling businesses with integrated security with its wide portfolio of endpoint security solutions, including the industry’s most secure commercial PCs3. Understanding the fact that breaches are now happening both above and below the OS, we at Dell Technologies, bring forth intelligent solutions that prevent, detect and respond to threats wherever they occur.
